An independent researcher. Peter first visited Wyoming as a teenager, going on fishing trips in the Winds and then a NOLS course in the Absarokas. These experiences deepened his love for wildlife, leading to a career in wildlife research that has included projects on species ranging from pronghorn to sea turtles to pumas. He moved full-time to Wyoming in 2008 to work for Craighead Beringia South and the Teton Cougar Project, the 17-year study on pumas in the greater Tetons. This work ultimately led to a master's degree in wildlife biology from Utah State University. His current research focuses on how camera traps, computer vision, and machine learning can strengthen wildlife conservation.

Peter joined the WFT board because Wyoming's wildlife has been central to both his professional and personal life, and he hopes this work will ensure his children have the same opportunities to fish, hunt, and enjoy wildlife that he has had.
